I’ve come to understand this deeply through my personal journey, serving in dual roles as Operations Manager at RegisTree, a community-based waste management and composting enterprise, and Chairperson of Dabaso Youth for Green Future, a youth-led organization focused on environmental action and empowering sustainable livelihoods. From the outside, planning and implementation may look like two natural stages of a project. One lays the foundation, and the other builds on it. But in reality, these stages often conflict, overlap, or even clash, especially in a grassroots setup where time, support, and resources are thin. SHORT COURSES TO LEARN AFTER FINISHING FORM FOUR

 


It is now a relief for the freshly graduate form four students. Instead of wasting time before joining University or colleges, one can enrich themselves skills and knowledge.

 The world is turning digital and here are some short courses that one can study as they wait to join University and colleges. 


1. Certificate in Computer Packages.



This comprises of short courses that gives the student knowledge and skills on computer functions and prorams.
It takes 2-3 months and can be of more hep not only to computer related courses but also for further studies.
Computer skills is the basic for all the computer related courses and jobs.

2. Online Freelancing.



Freelancing is the state of being unemployed and not answerable toa particular employer.
The world is turning digital with about 50% of the works done online.
It takes about 1-2 months and with the computer skills, one can be able to do freelancing.
Some of the courses under online freelancing can be,
a. Transcription
b. Content writing
c. Data entry and management
And many more other courses.

3. Foreign Languages



Being multilingual in Kenya is the other most selling opportunity.
It takes 2-3 months.
Kenya as a tourist center can be an advantage if you know languages like,
Germany
Spanish
French
Italian
Arabic
Russian
This can land you jobs not only in the hotel industry but even in the online jobs too.

4. Driving



In this econmy of high rate of unemploymet, driving has become a main opportunity especially for the youth.
This range from motorcycle (pikipiki), vehcles and tuktuk.
It takes about 2-3 months and you can do it even part time during your university period and earn a living 

The error of waiting for University and College placement while sitted at home has gone and its time not to just stay at home but equip yourself with digital knowledge.
